Struggling to agree the children arrangements with his wife was deeply distressing for one of my dad clients. Let’s call him Mr B.
He came to me wanting help with communication with his wife about the legal case and in particular how to ensure he got to spend adequate time with his two children who he adores.
He kindly agreed to share his story of the work we did together:
What was going on for you that prompted you to get in touch with Rhiannon in the first place?
“I was separated from my then wife, the mother of my two children. There were both child and financial matters that were a cause of significant concern.”
What in particular did you want help with when you first started working with Rhiannon?
“Firstly I was looking for reassurance because this was all alien to me and I was very scared. I was worried that my ex-wife would limit my time with the children and have a continued financial hold on me that was disproportionate to the reality of the situation.”
What did you find most helpful about working with Rhiannon in the early stages of your separation/divorce?
“Rhiannon was calming and reassuring, giving me a clear understanding of my rights and guidance on my approach to the immediate and longer-term challenges.”
How has working with Rhiannon helped you during the legal process of your divorce?
“Rhiannon was a great sounding board and helped me prepare information for the solicitors. It was thoroughly worth the investment, to get this amount of experience behind me as a second opinion.”
What have been any other benefits of working with Rhiannon?
“I think generally the experience with Rhiannon would be best described as like suddenly realising that you’re not on your own and you do have hope. Rhiannon’s approach and persona is to take a balanced and realistic view based on a clear understanding of the law. If you want a fair result then this is going to help!”
What would you say to someone considering getting a divorce as to how Rhiannon might be able to help them?
“I would highly recommend Rhiannon, she can offer support from the shortest little chat to the greatest amount of detail. It’s well worth a try if you have any doubts, fears or uncertainties. Even if you are sure of your position it’s even worth talking to Rhiannon as she will double check that you’re on solid ground and not missing something.”
