How we work together

When you are going through a relationship breakdown, it can be difficult to know who to turn to and it is not always easy or appropriate to talk to friends or family. I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment for you to share your thoughts and feelings and get answers to the many questions you will have. I meet my clients in a quiet and relaxed environment where they can talk freely about their situation.

What to bring with you

To ensure you get the most out of the meeting, it is a good idea to make a written note of any questions and issues you’d like us to discuss.

The meeting time

The first meeting is 2 hours. This should be plenty of time to cover your urgent questions. Further time after the 2hrs is charged at my hourly rate.

The meeting will start with me collecting some background information about you and your situation. This helps me understand your circumstances and enables me to answer your list of questions in line with your specific circumstances.

Answers to your questions

Once I have collected background information about your situation, we can go through your list of questions and concerns.

Family breakdown is a difficult time and there are probably lots of questions you have about your situation. Many new clients use the first meeting as a fact-finding exercise to collect the relevant information needed to help them understand more about their options and help make informed decisions about their situation.

Whilst I do not provide formal legal advice (that is for the solicitor), I can help explain legal information and processes. It is not just the information to answer your questions that you may find helpful but also some guidance on how best to approach your situation. How we approach things can make a real difference to how smoothly things progress.

Action plan

At the end of the meeting, I will pull together what we have discussed for us to agree a simple action plan for you for your next steps. This won’t be anything to worry about and there is no pressure to have made any decisions or take any big actions. It could involve me emailing you a help sheet on a topic we have spoken about and/or you having a think about something to talk through with me when we next meet/speak.

After the meeting

I will send you a short email with any help sheets, links or additional information we agreed I would send through as part of our action plan. (Please note that the cost for this falls outside the 2hr meeting charge).

Our next call/meeting will be arranged as part of our action plan, so you know when you’ll be speaking to me next to follow on from our discussions at the first meeting.

My charges

The first meeting is 2 hours and the cost for this is £495. Any work after that is charged at £210 per hour. The charges are inclusive of VAT.

Next steps

I will help you gain clarity and will be with you every step of the way to help you to a positive future. If you have any further questions about how I work or would like to book your first appointment, please complete my short online questionnaire here to arrange a call with me.
