Protecting Your Privacy
Your privacy is one of the foundations of my practice.
I understand that clients trust me with highly confidential information about their relationships, finances, children and personal circumstances.
If you have any concerns about the way your personal information has been collected, used, stored, shared or protected, I encourage you to tell me.
I am committed to investigating concerns fairly, promptly and transparently.
What Does This Policy Cover?
This policy relates specifically to concerns about personal information.
Examples include concerns about:

- confidentiality;
- information security;
- inaccurate information;
- delayed responses to Subject Access Requests;
- information shared incorrectly;
- information retained longer than necessary;
- any other concern relating to personal information.

Raising a Data Protection Concern
You can raise a concern by contacting me at:

- details of your concern;
- any supporting information;
How Your Concern Will Be Handled
When I receive your concern, I will:

- acknowledge receipt promptly;
- investigate the matter fairly;
- keep you informed where appropriate;
- explain my findings;
- explain any action taken or proposed.
Where appropriate, I will also review my procedures to identify any improvements that can be made.
Timescales
My aim is to:
-
- acknowledge your concern within five working days;
- investigate it thoroughly;
- provide a full response within 30 calendar days, where reasonably possible.
Confidentiality
Information relating to your concern will be treated confidentially and will only be shared where necessary to investigate the matter or where required by law.
Continuous Improvement
Protecting personal information is an ongoing responsibility.
Where appropriate, I will review my technology, policies or procedures to help reduce the likelihood of similar concerns arising in the future.
If You Remain Dissatisfied
If you remain dissatisfied after I have responded to your concern, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Further information about the ICO and how to make a complaint can be found on the ICO’s website.
I would always welcome the opportunity to resolve your concerns directly before you contact the ICO.
