I work with many clients who choose to use family mediation to resolve the financial and children issues associated with their divorce. The work I do with my clients goes on to assist the family mediator in the case, in the following ways;
Providing emotional support
By providing emotional support to my client to help them manage their feelings, they will feel calmer and more focused in the mediation sessions. This enables the mediation sessions to flow better and helps avoid the mediator needing to stop the session to deal with emotional outbursts.
Having previously worked as a family law solicitor, I am able to help the client collate and prepare their financial information for mediation. This saves the mediator time in the sessions and give them confidence it will be presented properly.
I coach my clients to prepare them for each mediation session so they are ready both emotionally and mentally. I help them with their mindset so they are clear and focused for each session. This helps the mediator feel comfortable that the client will be ready for constructive discussions.
My clients are able to discuss openly and confidentially with me how each session goes. We talk through what they want to achieve and how they want to present their proposals. This helps the mediator to know the client has someone knowledgeable and experienced supporting the client.
If you are a mediator who has a case where one of the parties could benefit from my help and support, please get in touch with me. I’d be happy to help.
