Recovering from your divorce process and being able to move forward with your life, can take time.
Here are 9 ways you can help yourself to move on:
1. Focus on the positives about your life now. There will be some. Be grateful for what and who you have.
2. Move forward with your life. Try to avoid living in the past and dwelling on what you’ve left behind.
3. Create positive changes in your life. Bring positivity into your life whatever that may look like.
4. Practice self-care daily. Small acts of self-care can make an important difference to your wellbeing.
5. Be honest about the tough times. You don’t need to pretend you haven’t been through a difficult time.
6. Process your feelings. This will help you recover emotionally.
7. Take time for reflection. Recognise where you’ve come from and where you are now.
8. Start something new. A new hobby or interest perhaps? Or a new job?
9. Plan your future. Focus on what you want your life to be like now and moving forward.
I recommend buying a divorce journal to record your thoughts and feelings. You can buy one here – divorce journals.
